Courteney Cox, who became famous by playing Monica Geller Friends, has continued her TV work well after leaving Central Perk, and just last year she finished Cougar Town on ABC/TBS. Now, she's signed up for a new sitcom on Fox!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 51-year-old star is currently developing a new sitcom on Fox centering on Hailey (played by Cox), a recent widow who inherits her billionaire husband's charity, only to find out that "changing the world is far less glamorous than she had imagined."

For now, the people involved in the project are The Office writer Robert Padnick and outside producers from ABC Studios. Both Padnick and Cox are set to executive produce alongside Thea Mann, who is already worked with the actress in the past, also producing Cougar Town.

James Griffiths, who has directed Cox's Friends co-star Matt LeBlanc on Episodes, is also on board as an executive, plus so far the planned director for the pilot.

As AV Club reports, this would be Cox's third TV project since Friends ended. In 2007, three years after Friends ended its ten-year run, Cox starred on the short-lived FX series Dirt, where pal Jennifer Aniston came by to lend a hand at some point.

The Friends cast has remained active on television over the past decade, with different projects of varying success.

After Friends ended, LeBlanc starred in the short-lived (and terrible) spinoff show Joey, though these days he's turned into a respected and Golden Globe-winning actor with Episodes. Similarly, Lisa Kudrow has starred in two different shows after the iconic sitcom, The Comeback and Web Therapy.

Matthew Perry has been the one with the least luck, as he's starred in three short-lived shows: Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Mr. Sunshine and Go On. Currently, he stars on the new CBS reimagining of The Odd Couple.

David Schwimmer, who's been doing mostly voice acting work and directing in the past few years, is set to make his big TV comeback this year, playing Robert Kardashian (yes, Kim's father) on Ryan Murphy's new show American Crime Story.
