Malcolm Jamal Warner, Regina King Break Up: Childhood Stars Split, Theo Huxtable 'Not Feeling it Anymore' After 2 Years of Dating

Malcolm-Jamal Warner, aka Theo Huxtable, & his girlfriend Regina King are currently going through a messy break up! The two childhood stars split,  after dating for 2 years, because Warner apparently "wasn't feeling it anymore," a US Weekly source reveals.

The sudden split was also not a clean break, as The Cosby Show star reportedly asked King and her 17-year-old son, from her previous marriage, to move out of the house that they shared.

"She's still very brokenhearted," says the insider of the Jerry McGuire actress.

The two stars, now 42-years-old, have been friends since the 1980s when both Warner & King appeared on TV shows at a young age (Warner on The Cosby Show and King on 227).

"Malcolm and I have a lot in common," King told Essence in January 2011. "we've both been child actors and were also blessed to be raised by incredible mothers who instilled good values in us. Things are maturing nicely."

Apparently the commonalities between the two childhood stars couldn't keep their relationship together.

Malcolm & Regina may have met back in the '80s when their shows appeared on the same network (NBC), but they didn't start dating until two years ago when they entered into a pretty private romance, according to Newsday.

"I believe the universe has a plan, and we probably wouldn't have been ready years ago. We both had to do whatever we had to do to be ready for each other now," Jerry Maguire actress King told Parade in January 2012.

Warner also commented on the "secretive" relationship in an October 2011 interview with BET: "We like to protect what we have because it's very special and very precious . . . But I will say that it's a relationship that makes all the sense in the world."

The couple shot down engagement rumors in early 2011 when King confirmed to "Access Hollywood" at the time, "No, we're not engaged." 

Regina's romance with Theo Huxtable was not the only long-term relationship that she had in her life. The actress was married to music industry executive Ian Alexander Sr. for nearly a decade and the couple had a child together, Ian Jr., in 1996. The couple divorced back in 2006, according to Newsday.

Though Warner never wed or had children, he was in some serious relationships himself. He was dating Michelle Thomas, who played Theo's girlfriend Justine Phillips on "Cosby" and also co-starred on "Family Matters." They were together when she died of a rare form of cancer in December 1998. He was also reportedly involved with "A Different World" actress Karen Malina White, for over seven years.

Now-a-days the recently broken up childhood stars continuing acting: Warner plays a NYU English professor, Alex Reed, on BET's "Reed Between the Lines," while King acts as a detective on the TNT drama "Southland."
