Mendeecees Harris, Yandy Smith Take Kids to Disney World Before Father Starts Prison Sentence

Yandy Smith and Mendeecees Harris' trip to Disney World was bittersweet. The couple was all smiles, but will more than likely be all tears when Harris turns himself in to the Allenwood Low federal prison in Pennsylvania, on January 19.

Requesting to be close to his family as he serves eight years behind bars, Harris will be four hours away from New York. The Love and Hip Hop New York star wanted to serve time at the Otisville federal prison, which is about an hour and a half away, but it looks like his wishes weren't granted.

According to Bossip, the Judge working the case, Frank Geraci, explained why Harris wouldn't be able to serve out his time closer to his family.

"The court recommends that the defendant Mendeecees Harris be placed by the Bureau of Prisons as close to New York City as possible," Geraci said in the court documents. "However, the ultimate decision is the Bureau of Prisons."

Before going to prison, the Harris family took a trip to the most magical place on earth. In the photo below, Smith claimed that the family experience was their "best trip ever."

Smith has one daughter, Skylar, and one son, Omere, with Harris. She also included her two stepsons in on the fun. Harris' other two boys are from two previous relationships.

MStars News has been keeping up with Harris' criminal case since the beginning. The reality star pleaded guilty to drug trafficking back in 2015 and admitted to being involved in a operation between 2005 and 2012 shipping cocaine and heroin to the Rochester region.

Hopefully, the Harris family can stay strong during this difficult change in their household. While her husband is in jail, Smith will be raising her kids, as well as her stepsons. Smith and Harris' daughter will turn a year old a few days after her father goes to jail, hopefully Harris gets to throw her a birthday party before he goes to prison next week.
