In the wake or her husband, Mendeecees Harris' 8 year prison sentence, Yandy Smith is finally speaking out, and opening up to her fans on the case. The mother of two has been preparing for her husband's fate for over two years and is finally releasing all of the stress after he was sentenced last week.

During a chat with VH1 she said, "The toughest thing about being married and then having this gloom over you of the unexpected future is you never want to internalize living alone once you got into a commitment with your best friend and the person that you want to wake up to everyday of your life for the next 60 years if you're blessed to do so."

She continued, "When I was told that I might have to possibly spend one night without my husband, heartbroken wasn't even the word for it." Smith, who has two children with her husband admitted that she sometimes "puts herself in a box where she doesn't think about the negative or what could happen."

"I live for what's happening. And what's happening is we have beautiful children, we have a wonderful marriage, a wonderful home that I actually love. So the thought of not having that will break my heart," the Love and Hip Hop New York star said.

She also said that her husband's time behind bars will be different because she can prepare herself. "This will be different from before when Mendeecees went away. This time, I can prepare myself. I can prepare my life. We've already started to prepare. I think knowing is half the battle for me, but the unexpected is what I really couldn't deal with and where I had a hard time."

MStars News previously reported that Harris was sentenced to eight years in prison after he, along with is brother and another man, were involved in drug trafficking in New York. Harris' brother and the other man involved are already serving their time behind bars.

Harris made statements after he was sentenced. He said, "This was a rough season, one minute you're happy, the next minute you're sad. You don't know what tomorrow brings. It was just an emotional rollercoaster." He also claimed that he couldn't make excuses for his past behavior. "I thought I was doing everything right, but sometimes- I really can't make excuses for why I'm here. But I learned a lot."
