Caitlyn Jenner Fires Back at Ricky Gervais’ Golden Globes Joke

Caitlyn Jenner  is not one to back down when being attacked. The former Olympian has never been afraid to speak her mind and when Ricky Gervais roasted her at the 2016 Golden Globes, she had a lot to say about that.

Although Gervais did mention about Jenner's transition, he didn't really elaborate on that topic but instead he talked about the fatal car accident back in February 2015 that Jenner apparently caused.

During the awards ceremony, Gervais made several jokes at Jenner’s expense. “I’ve changed,” he began, before mentioning the former Olympian. “Not as much as Bruce Jenner, obviously."

Although everyone must have expected that the 54-year-old comedian would savor the moment to make fun of the ultimate manly-man turning into a lady; he stopped right there.

The English actor then started to talk about Jenner's "bravery" after her transition and how she "destroys stereotypes." He went directly to the controversial crash, "She didn’t do a lot for women drivers. But you can’t have everything, can ya? Not at the same time."

Kris Jenner's ex was asked at the Television Critics Tour in Pasadena, California to respond to the host's joke at the Golden Globes.

“On Ricky, I think what I’m gonna do is call the Golden Globes and see if they need a new host for next year,” Jenner said laughing. “And we’ll solve that problem.”

On Tuesday, Gervais took to Twitter to defend his point of view, noting that merely bringing up Jenner in a joke does not "automatically" make one transphobic.

Suggesting a joke about Caitlin Jenner is automatically transphobic is like suggesting a joke about Bill Cosby is automatically racist.
