Good news Scream Queens fans: the show has officially been renewed for a second season! The news puts to rest months of rumors and speculation about the future of the show, which despite doing quite well with DVR and VOD viewership, had live ratings issues throughout its first season. Here we breakdown the top four things we know about the second season so far.

1. Scream Queens: Hospital

Ok, so we don't actually know the official title of the show, but it has been confirmed that the new season will take place in a hospital. "It's going to take place in a hospital and explore some of the most interesting medical fascinomas," says Fox boss Gary Newman. "This is something [creator] Ryan Murphy loves and had a lot of fun with on Nip/Tuck, and he, Brad [Falchuk] and Ian [Brennan] are going to infuse that sensibility on Scream Queens."

2. More Age Groups will Have a Presence

Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter back in October that he pitched a more diverse season 2 to Fox execs. Specifically, he mentioned he wanted the show to "feature a cast of all different age groups," THR reports.

3. Some Cast Will Return

It's been known for months that Murphy intended to keep some actors around for the next season, and that he wanted the show to be anthological. What wasn't known, however, was whether those actors would be playing the same characters or new ones (like Murphy's other anthology series American Horror Story). Now, it seems we have an answer. "Ryan definitely intends to bring some of the actors from the first installment back," said Fox's Dana Walden to TVLine. "I believe they will be the same characters."

Star Lea Michele also confirmed this news by saying, "Yes, we're playing the same characters in a new location. We would all go somewhere, and it's explained why we're going where we're going. Hopefully Emma Roberts will be back for sure, too." Michele did not officially confirm she would be returning, merely saying she'll "hopefully be back to play next year."

4. Some Big Pop Stars Will Join In

Season 1 featured big pop stars such as Nick Jonas and Ariana Grande. Murphy told fans back in October that a huge male pop star was interested in joining the show for season 2, but wouldn't say who. Fans, perhaps just wishfully, have suggested it will be Harry Styles. Murphy also teased that Lady Gaga loves the show and would love to join it, as well.

Not much else is known about the upcoming season, including when it will be released, although the cast is appearing at a panel at PaleyFest in March so perhaps we'll learn more then. Stay tuned!
