Mark this down as a rather unusual collaboration. Pop superstar Lady Gaga and legendary singer Tony Bennett are going to be recording an album together. That is, after "Mother Monster" can get out of that gold wheelchair she is rolling around in after her hip surgery. Gaga is on strict orders from doctors to rest her injured hip, so who knows when the "Born This Way" singer will be able to start recording again.

Tony Bennett spilled the beans after he received a lifetime achievement award Thursday in New York from the Amy Winehouse Foundation. The 86-year-old jazz singer said he and Gaga have yet to record in the studio, but the deal is in place. Bennett told The Associated Press, "We have it all worked out on paper." It looks as though the only hold up is Gaga's injured hip.

Despite Bennett and Gaga seeming like an odd pairing, this wouldn't be the first time they teamed up. Bennett recorded a duet with the 26-year-old singer for "The Lady is a Tramp" on Bennett's Duets II album back in 2011. That album went on to win a Grammy.

According to The Associated Press, Bennett has called Gaga a "wonderful person and a great talent." He also added that he wants to work with Gaga because "she's quite different." Well, that is definitely true. Bennett said he and Gaga will be recording a "big swing album."

It looks like Gaga fans have something else to look forward to once Gaga gets back on her feet. Fans were disappointed when Gaga had to cancel her "Born This Way Ball" tour, but it looks like she has some big plans for her return. We are still waiting to see if she goes through with tying the knot with boyfriend Taylor Kinney. Stay tuned.

What do you think Mstarz readers, are you excited for a Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett collaboration?
