David Schwimmer opened up this weekend about the Friends cast reuniting without Matthew Perry and how Kris Jenner helped him prepare for his role as Robert Kardashian.

At the TCA press tour, the actor told reporters that calling the upcoming special honoring Friends director James Burrows a reunion is inaccurate. "I mean, in no way is it a Friends reunion when one member is out of the country." He is referring to the fact that Matthew Perry will not be in the special because he will be in London rehearsing for his upcoming play, The End Of Longing. Although Perry will not be there in person, he is expected to join his former cast mates via video.

Although Schwimmer was on the panel to discuss his portrayal of Robert Kardashian in FX's American Crime Story: The People V. O.J. Simpson, it was inevitable he would be asked about the Friends cast getting back together. After acknowledging it won't be a reunion, the actor said, "It won't be a reunion, but it'll be fun. We're honoring someone we love very much, Jimmy Burrows, our director."

Before the actor is reunited with his famous co-stars, he can be seen playing Kardashian in one the most highly anticipated min-series of the season. It is a big role for the actor that involves a talented cast playing out one of highest profile murder cases in history. He also got a chance to comment on how Kris Jenner helped him with the role. "What I needed to know was who [Kardashian] was as a husband and a man. Those are things that Kris Jenner was really helpful with."

Fans can see Schwimmer as Kardashian when the 10-hour mini-series debuts on Februrary 2nd. Then they can watch him hang out with his former friends on February 21st in the special for Burrows.
