Taraji P. Henson Dishes Stella McCartney Golden Globes Dress After Empire Season 3 Teaser

2016 looks like the "Year of Taraji P. Henson" as she is sweeping up major acknowledgement for her role as Cookie Lyon on Empire. Henson's career is being elevated to all new heights as she won big at the Golden Globe Awards this month for "Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Drama Series." This win was a career milestone for Henson and she let everyone know it in her hilarious acceptance speech. Check out the video below!

This year's Golden Globes marks the first time in Taraji P. Henson's 20-year acting career that she has been nominated and/or selected as a winner. This may be the most prestigious of the 19 wins of her career as she went full on "Cookie Lyon" and spontaneously gave away actual cookies on her way to the stage to accept her honor. Angela Bassett, Lady Gaga and Leonardo DiCaprio were among the stars to receive cookies from "Cookie."

In addition to getting into character on stage, Henson gave a riveting 2-minute acceptance speech, sassing off on live television to the teleprompter "wrap up" message.

Henson exclaimed "Please wrap?" she scoffed, "Wait a minute. I waited 20 years for this. You gon' wait. Yeah, you gon' give me a little more time."

The audience fell out in laughter and applause as Henson went on to thank everyone on her team as well as the cast of the show explaining that she would be nothing without them. She thanked her supportive fans and show creators, Lee Daniels and Danny Strong for taking such a huge risk with Empire.

She said matter-of-factly, "Who knew that playing an ex-convict would take me all around the globe?"

In celebration of the honor, Henson took to her Instagram page to bask in all her glory. She thanked her dress designer for making her Golden Globes vision come true with 2 breathtaking gowns for the biggest night yet of Henson's career.
