If her "Blank Space" video is any indication, Taylor Swift would make an excellent weapon wielding character in Scream Queens season 2. As it turns out, the thought may not be that far-fetched, as rumors have started to swirl that the pop star may be joining the show next season. Although nothing is official yet, creator Ryan Murphy has not been shy about his desire to have Swift on the show in the past. In fact, he told HollywoodLife last year that he had begged her to join in season one. Swift would have been sharing the screen with fellow pop stars Ariana Grande and Nick Jonas. Of Swift, Murphy said, "I love Taylor Swift. I go after Taylor Swift for everything that I do. I have great affection for her."

Apparently that affection carries over into a desire to work with the star. "I would love to work with her. I actually called her people about her for this, but she had already booked a tour, and I said, just do one episode, but she couldn't even do that. But some day, because I'm a big fan," Murphy said.

Is that "someday," meaning now? The show was just ordered a second season, and casting is well underway. Swift is currently not on tour and won't be for at least another year or two.

HollywoodLife is reporting that sources say the time is right, and Murphy is going after Swift again. According to the unnamed source, "And now that she has some time on her hands with no tour obligations, she is considering to take a part on the show. Ryan wants to write her a character so good that she has no reason to say 'no.'"

Although the timing is right, and Murphy "loves" Swift, GossipCop is refuting the story saying that a separate source has told them that there is "no truth to the rumor."

Casting news should be leaking out in the next few months, so it looks like fans will just have to wait and see!
