There were many speculations as to who will lead the Incredible India campaign after Aamir Khan. Now, it looks like India's megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Quantico lead Priyanka Chopra are going to become new brand ambassadors for the campaign.

Earlier this month, it was announced that Rang De Basanti star Khan's contract as the face of the Incredible India Campaign was expired; that's why he will no longer be a part of it. There were also many reports suggesting that Khan was stripped of his role over his comments he made in 2015 about how he and his wife Kiran Rao feel insecure in India from the rising intolerance.

Those, however, appear to be just rumors.

After Khan, there were speculations that Mr. Bachchan, who was earlier featured in the past for the tourism campaign for Gujarat, will be the face of Incredible India campaign. It was earlier reported by MStars News that Mr. Bachchan will be directly recruited by the government, unlike Khan, who was represented by the McCann Erickson ad agency. When in a press event, it was asked to Mr. Bachchan, that his name is being considered, the Wazir actor was quoted by NDTV as responding:

"Nobody has asked me but if they do, yes, I would be more than willing to. I do a lot of this for a state and country and I will be happy if ever there is offer to do something."

According to Economic Times, after Khan's departure as the Incredible India campaign, Mr. Bachchan and Chopra's name are being considered by the officials. The reason for choosing a female personality like Chopra with Mr. Bachchan for "Atithi Devo Bhava" as a part of Incredible India is to attract more foreign tourists.

The official announcement for the post of Incredible India brand ambassador will be made after Jan. 26, 2016.
