Winter Storm Jonas is doing all kinds of crazy things on the East Coast. It's caused many schools to close, people to seek shelter, and cars to regret ever being made. But some pretty cool things have also transpired because of the storm, too. The sports world is no exception. Here are three cool things that have happened in the world of sports thanks to our friend Jonas and the snow day he brought to sports. Teams sledding, snowball was (re)invented, and police sang the National Anthem.

1. Swinney Sledding

The University of Clemson, located in Clemson, South Carolina, had a snow day on Friday. Football players and recruits didn't waste the opportunity to enjoy it with their coach. Dabo Swinney grabbed his sled of choice and hiked to the top of the hill inside Death Valley. He proceeded to slide down the hill on his stomach, even catching a little air along the way. He almost certainly earned the commitment of a recruit or two, also.

2. Cop Singing

You can't play a basketball game before the National Anthem is sung, and you can't sing the National Anthem before a singer is present. And, thanks to Jonas, the singer who was supposed to sing the National Anthem at a recent game between West Virginia University and the University of Kansas couldn't make it (stuck in traffic, most likely). That's when Carlton Smith stepped in -- a WVU alum, and a current university police officer.

Talk about some pipes. Smith will sing the National Anthem once again a day before Valentine's Day, when WVU takes on Texas Christian University. This time, though, he'll have some time to prep.

3. Correa Swinging

Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa was in New York City on Saturday accepting his rookie of the year award. Another person in New York City on Saturday was Storm Jonas. Fortunately, the two were able to get together to enjoy each other's company. They laughed, danced, and played snow baseball -- no doubt making some pretty neat memories along the way.
