Gabrielle Union knew what she was doing when she dodged bullets while answering questions about the controversial Clueless star, Stacey Dash. Thanks to Dwyane Wade's wife, the hashtag: "#WhoIsStaceyDash" was trending on social media like wildfire Tuesday night.

During a recent interview with the Associated Press, Union was asked what she thought about Dash's thoughts on eliminating BET and Black History Month.

Smiling, Union joked and said: "Is she like related to Dame Dash? Was she on Roc-A-Fella?" She added, "I heard of a crazy lady once, but I don't know what her name is."

Union strongly disagreed with Dash's comments and said: "If you don't see yourself reflected in main stream awards you tend to create your own," she explained. "Until there's no longer a need for that I celebrate the BET Awards, the Image Awards, which I wil be at in a couple of weeks."

If you haven't heard what Dash said, let's start from the beginning. It all started when actress, Jada Pinkett Smith, and other celebrities including her husband, Will Smith, boycotted the Oscars for the lack of diversity with 2016's nomination list. Dash basically said that she was sick of the Oscars chatter and that if the entertainment industry didn't want to be separated, to get rid of networks like BET, which focuses mainly on African-American talent.

Dash said on Fox News: "I think it's ludicrous because we have to make up our minds," she continued, "Either we want to have segregation or integration, and if we don't want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the Image Awards, where you're only awarded if you're black. If it were the other way around, we'd be up in arms. It's a double standard." Dash, whose appeared on BET added, "there shouldn't be a Black History Month. We're Americans, period. That's it."

After Union's interview, Twitter and other social media outlets went wild with the hashtag: "#WhoIsStaceyDash." Check out some of the hilarious memes below.
