Everybody can use a little pick-me-up now and again--even superstar basketball players. You know, a little insightful perspective to recharge and refocus. Take Dwyane Wade, for example, who had recently struggled with a dip in form. That is, until he received a couple of well thought out, borderline inspirational speaker-like, text messages from his son Zaire before the Miami Heat's game against the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday.

Ethan J. Skolnick of the Miami Herald shared the text messages on his Instagram with the permission of Wade. (We'll forgive the grammatical errors. It is texting, after all.)

"Hey man, you won't get this message till after your game but I wanna say sum," began Zaire. "These last few away games I have been watching to see if I can help you with anything. In the game you struggled you of course shot bad from the field. The games you played good you got to the bucket. Last night vs the Bulls was I thunk your best game of the season. when you are attacking the rim that causes defense to suck in and open up and ones for you, wide open treys for your teammates or etc..."

Zaire finished up the rest of his message saying, more or less, that his dad needs to continue to be aggressive, stop being so hard on himself, and most of all, play for passion--not as if it's his job, but as if he's a kid on the playground playing for the sheer joy of it all.

It worked, too.

That night Wade scored 27 points, leading the Heat to a 102-98 victory in Brooklyn over the Nets, snapping a 3 game losing skid.

The Heat will now look ahead to Friday's game against Milwaukee, their last away game of a lengthy road trip. Then it's back home, where Dwyane can properly thank his son for unlocking the fountain of youth.
