'Gotham' Season 2 Spoilers: Will Ben McKenzie See Mister Freeze's "Wrath of the Villains?"

Season 2 of the Batman prequel series, Gotham, aired its winter finale on Fox. Before the upcoming Episode 12, will Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) and Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) become victims of Mister Freeze (Nathan Darrow)'s "Wrath of the Villains?"

In our previous recap, mourning over their fallen officer, Jim and Bullock (Donal Logue) went after the Order of St. Dumas. After faking his kidnapping, Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) got the name of his parent's killer from Silver St. Cloud (Natalie Alyn Lind). After Theo (James Frain) fooled the court system, both Jim and Bruce were in peril. Alfred ended up getting a knife to his back after fighting with Tigress.

In our recent recap, it was a massive shootout between the Order of St. Dumas and a room full of police officers. With Bruce back with Alfred, Jim and Penguin took Theo (James Frain) to the docks. After Penguin beat Theo senseless, Jim took out his gun and pulled the trigger. To get revenge for his mother, Penguin drove an umbrella through Theo's mouth. As Gordon settled in with his pregnant Leslie Tompkins (Morena Baccarin), Mister Freeze suddenly showed up to stir trouble.

In an interview with TV Guide, executive producer Bruno Heller reveals putting his stamp on the Batman super villain, "We're taking it back to the roots of the origin story. It's about him and his wife before he became a bad guy, how he became a bad guy. It's very much a story of the heart rather than a story about technology and super-villainy. It's a doomed romance. It will make people cry."

According to Screen Rant, a teaser poster and banner has been released, dubbed the "Wrath of the Villains" Storyline. Will Tabitha Galavan (Jessica Lucas) seek revenge for her brother, Theo (Frain)'s death? Why is Victor Fries (Darrow)has been stealing bodies from a variety of sources around the city?

Gotham Season 2 returns to Fox on February 29, 2016 at 8pm.
