The publicity around the Steven Avery case, and Netflix's Making a Murderer docuseries that made it a household name, doesn't look to be dying down any time soon. Dateline is airing a special about the case, titled "The State of Wisconsin vs. Steven A. Avery," and it promises juicy new interviews with key players in the case.

The special, which airs tonight at 10 p.m. (ET) on NBC, is set to include a rare interview with Penny Beerntsen. Fans of Making a Murderer will recall that she was the victim of sexual assault in episode one. Avery went to jail for that crime, although DNA evidence later cleared him.

The Wrap reports that Dateline previously covered the case back in 2006 and 2007. "The last time we did one, [Avery] had just been convicted," Dateline executive producer Liz Cole told the outlet in a statement. She continued, "It got back on our radar in a big way when the documentary got so much attention."

According to E!, the special is said to feature new interviews with numerous key players from the trials of Avery and his nephew, Brendan Dassey, such as Ken Kratz (prosecutor of Avery and his nephew), Jerry Buting (former defense attorney for Avery), Kim Ducat (Avery's cousin), Robert Hermann (current Manitowoc County sheriff), Steven Drizin and Laura Nirider (Dassey's appellate attorneys) and Michael Griesbach (author of "The Innocent Killer" and an ADA currently in Manitowoc).

The Dateline special is a precursor to another, similar special set to air on ID Saturday. Steven Avery: Innocent or Guilty? is claiming to provide "critical details surrounding the case." It will also feature new interviews with key players in the case.

The State of Wisconsin vs. Steven A. Avery airs on NBC tonight at 10 p.m. ET. Steven Avery: Innocent or Guilty? airs Saturday at 9 p.m.
