Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is currently shooting his upcoming crime-drama film Raees in Gujarat. However, the members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) have reportedly opposed the production of Raees. Several members of the VHP have burned Khan's posters and demanded that the government cancel the film's shoot.

During his 50th birthday, Khan talked about the rising intolerance in India during an exclusive interview with NDTV India. The actor reportedly said that in India, the intolerance is growing rapidly and he feels that intolerance should be the biggest issue. After his interview, Khan was attacked by many media outlets and politicians and as a result of which, his last film, Dilwale had to deal with calls for boycotts from different political leaders.

Now, after Dilwale, Khan's Raees is facing the same issues.

According to DNA, members of the VHP were seen raising slogans and burning Khan's posters in Gujarat. Due to this, the security around the film shooting locations have been increased.

Reports from DNA suggest that VHP members have demanded that the district collector should cancel the shooting permission for Raees in Kutch and in Ahmedabad. The members have also threatened to create chaos at the production set if their demands are not met by the administrators.

Check out the uploaded video in which the supposed VHP members are seen burning Khan's posters in Kutch, Gujarat:

In Raees, Khan is supposed to play the role of bootlegger who imports alcohol in Gujarat, which is an alcohol free state in India. The film will also feature Manjhi actor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the role of a police officer who chases Khan's character and 31-year-old Pakistani actress Mahira Hafeez Khan, who made her debut by starring in Pakistani drama film, Bol.

The film is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment and is directed by Rahul Dholakia. The film is slated to release during festive seasons in India.
