Created by executive producers Carlton Cuse (Lost) and Ryan J. Condal (Hercules), USA Network has renewed Colony for Season 2. By the end of first season, are Will (Josh Holloway) and Katie Bowman (Sarah Wayne Callies) collaborators or part of the resistance?

As we previously mentioned, Colony is set in the near future of Los Angeles, after the invasion has taken over. There are those who collaborate and those who resist their new world order. Before a rebel terrorist attack ruined his plans, Will (Holloway) was trying to cross the wall, in order to find his missing son. Because Will was an FBI agent, Snyder (Peter Jacobson) offers Katie (Callies) and her husband a chance to find the leader of the resistance, in return for their missing child. Unbeknownst to her husband, as he collaborates, Katie has actually been working for the resistance the entire time.

According to TV Line, USA Network has renewed its invasion drama for a sophomore season, The first season currently has 10 episodes and has aired its first three episodes. The second season will have a 13 episode order.

USA president Chris McCumber states, "Carlton and Ryan [Condal] have successfully delivered a story that tests the strengths and weaknesses of a society in duress, and the bonds of a family divided. Colony's performance across all platforms has been impressive, and we can't wait to see where the story takes us."

In our MStars interview, creator,co-showrunner Ryan J. Condal revealed his plans for second season and beyond, "We've had a lot of time now cracking the story for the pilot. We've talked a lot about the world, how the story can evolve and grow. We have plans for the show to go well beyond its first season. It's a super rich storytelling environment.

Condal continues, "It's the nature of things that can change and shift the show. You're always learning the rules of the of this world. People can come in and out of power, things can change. It just makes I think for a storytelling world that doesn't have an end to it."

Colony  continues Thursdays at 10pm on USA Network.
