It's no secret that Marvel antihero Deadpool doesn't mince words, and neither does the man who will play him in his upcoming solo film. Ryan Reynolds recently dissed the mutant flick X-Men: Days of Future Past, saying that Deadpool will not be in the same timeline as the movie.

"I really don't think this has anything to do with Days of Future Past or its timeline," Reynolds told FILMSTARTS before sharing what his character would say about the idea.

"If it were Deadpool, he could tell Days of Future Past to take its timeline and go f--k itself," he said.

All kidding aside, Reynolds explained how the film exists beyond the timelines of the X-Men or Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"We make fun of the timelines in the movie, but Deadpool is not affected by that at all," he said. "Deadpool, I think, is just his own thing -- his own universe -- and anytime the other X-Men interact with Deadpool and his universe, they do so at their own risk and peril."

But that doesn't mean the X-Men will not be making an appearance in any Deadpool films.

"In the future, if we're doing a bunch more Deadpool movies, we're really going to explore the X-Men a lot," Reynolds confirmed before revealing what he is looking forward to tackle soon.

"Maybe X-Force -- X-Force is my priority," he admitted. "I really want to get that in."

It's no surprise that Reynolds would be interested in working on an X-Force film. After all, the superhero team is known for having more aggressive tactics than the X-Men. In addition to that, Deadpool was once a member of the superhero team that was originally led by Wade's comic book BFF Cable. We have previously reported that Reynolds confirmed that a Cable and Deadpool movie is being planned as a sequel to his upcoming film.

Deadpool is directed by Tim Miller and also stars Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Ed Skrein, Gina Carano and Brianna Hildebrand. The film will finally hit theaters on February 12.
