He may be playing the fiery metahuman Deathstorm in The Flash, but Robbie Amell definitely wants to be Batman one day. The star of The Duff recently opened up about his love for the Caped Crusader and offered some details on his new character.

The Tomorrow People actor recently spoke to Comic Book Resources, where he revealed that he doesn't remember a time when he didn't look up to the character.

"I've always loved Batman. Actually before I can remember anything, I remember loving Batman," Amell admitted before explaining what drew him to the DC superhero.

"I can't tell you what it was when I was a kid, but as an adult, I like the balance of Bruce and Batman. Being a playboy billionaire, saving Gotham, a broken man who lost his parents and Batman himself -- there are so many levels to play with," he said. "And, essentially, he's just a man. No powers. It makes it feel more grounded to me."

Amell also shared how he discovered and fell in love with the animated series Batman Beyond. In the future, the Dark Knight has officially retired due to old age and the fear of another massive heart attack. After his father discovered something crooked going on in at Wayne Enterprises,Terry revealed to Bruce that Powers has corrupted his own company. Traumatized by the death of his murdered father, Terry takes over the Batman mantle and becomes Bruce's protege. How is this role not perfect for Robbie Amell and hypothetically Michael Keaton,or even Adam West?

"Batman Beyond got my attention because a friend said I looked like Terry McGinnis," he said. "I checked it out and loved it. It was a nice, new take on a property I've enjoyed for so many years."

Amell recently reprised his role as Ronnie Raymond in The Flash, but as the character's evil Earth-2 counterpart Deathstorm. His guest appearance is limited to just one episode because, well, just check the video below.
