Does Broadway have beef with Taylor Swift over the Grammy opener? Apparently, creator of the hit Broadway show Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda, said in an interview that the cast of the musical would be doing the opening number at the Grammys. Then, it was announced that Swift would be the show's opener. Theater fans did not take kindly to the news, assuming Swift swooped in and stole the spot.

Not so fast, though. In the interview in question, Miranda said, "We're going to do the opening number, scream with joy, and then celebrate the fact that we were just on the Grammys."

When it was announced that Swift would be opening the Grammys, a Broadway source told Page Six, "Taylor Swift upstaged Hamilton! Hamilton was going to be the big opening number - and the Grammys just announced it would be Taylor. The show is furious!"

However, it turns out, when Miranda said "opening number," he meant the opening number from the Broadway show, "Alexander Hamilton," not the opening of the Grammys. A Grammy rep told Page Six Hamilton was never going to open the show. A statement by Grammy executive producer Ken Ehrlich, seems to confirm this as well. He was quoted as saying, "We're going to do the opening number from Hamilton."

Swift, who will be performing the Grammy opener, will be singing a song from her latest album, 1989. Adele, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar, Carrie Underwood, Rihanna, Demi Lovato, Johnny Depp and more will be performing at this year's ceremony as well.

Swift is up for some of the evening's biggest awards this year: Album of the Year (1989), Best Pop Vocal Album (1989), Record of the Year ("Blank Space"), Song of the Year ("Blank Space"), Best Pop Solo Performance ("Blank Space"), Best Pop Duo/Group Performance ("Bad Blood") and Best Music Video ("Bad Blood").

Music's biggest night will premiere live on CBS at 8 p.m. ET on Feb. 15.
