MStars News is learning more details about the car crash that killed the Oklahoma City Thunder's assistant coach's wife, Ingrid Williams, 44. According to NOLA.com, some of Monty Williams' children are currently in the hospital after a head-on collision took the life of their mother earlier this week.
MStars News previously learned that three of the couple's children were in the car when the accident happened. Two of the children are still in the hospital, while one was released on Thursday. We don't know the names and the ages of the children that were involved at this time.
The Williams have five children: Lael, Faith, Janna, Elijah and Micah. Their ages are between 5 to 17.
Ingrid Williams' car was hit head-on by another car after it lost control and crossed lanes. The Thunder team released a statement, and Williams' former team the New Orleans Pelicans did as well.
"The New Orleans Pelicans are devastated to hear the news of Ingrid Williams' passing. Ingrid was beloved by the Pelicans organization and the New Orleans community and will forever be remembered as one of the most generous, kind and humble individuals we've ever known. Our thoughts and prayers are with Monty Williams and his family during this difficult time."
Williams' team takes on the Pelicans on Thursday night at Chesapeake Energy Arena. Monty Williams was the head coach of the Pelicans before joining the Thunder in 2015. Fans and mourners can bring flowers to the west side of the arena before tonight's game.
OKC Thunder captioned the photo of Mrs. Williams below with details for a memorial: "If you would like to show your support for Coach Williams and his family, bring flowers to west side of Chesapeake Arena, whether you are coming to game tonight or not. Send deliveries to 208 Thunder Dr OKC, OK 73102. Thank you!"
