MStars News has learned that William Lawrence Rucker was laid to rest over the weekend after he died in San Francisco just hours before the Super Bowl 50. Rucker, a relative of the Rucker sisters who have a hit show called, Love Thy Sister, was a popular Lancaster, SC businessman, and a Panther fan.

Rucker's wife now a widow revealed that her husband's funeral service was held on Saturday, Febuary 13 at a middle school that was named after the family.

"It is so painful," Daffney Rucker told WSOCTV. "I think I'm still in a daze." Rucker along with his son, and other members of his family traveled to California last weekend to see the Carolina Panthers take on the Denver Broncos.

Rucker was at a Panther event at the Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco last Sunday when Keyshawn Johnson, who was a wide receiver for the Carolina Panthers, handed Rucker's 9-year-old son, Aaron, a football. After that Rucker collapsed and died.

Daffney Rucker claimed that her husband was super excited when their son finally got a football from the Panthers.

"He always wanted to make my son happy," Daffney Rucker claimed. Johnson reached out to the family after Rucker died. "Their [father and son] relationship was wonderful."

"We're just trying to keep it together and hold on," William's brother, Aaron Rucker claimed. "People loved him. William was a champion to the little man in Lancaster County," he added.

Aaron shared an image of his brother, who was excited in San Francisco just before his death. "My brother in San Francisco on the trolley getting ready for the Super Bowl. He loved our Panthers and he followed them to the end. I so loved my little brother, and will miss him until my final breath," he captioned the photo below.
