Bollywood Actor Akshay Kumar "Humbled" With 'Airlift' Worldwide Box-Office Response

Akshay Kumar has changed his image in Bollywood industry from playing romantic and comedy heroes to dedicating his movies that connect with the Indian audience on a patriotic and human level. Looking at Airlift movie's worldwide box-office success, Kumar is humbled with the response.

According to Times of India, Kumar has thanked all of his fans for the continuous support that they have been providing him and his movies. Kumar, in response to Airlift" movie's effect on the audience, wrote on his Twitter handle that he is the happiest he could have ever been.

It was earlier reported by Mstars News that, Airlift revolves around the sequence of the evacuation of Indians from Kuwait when they were trapped helplessly during the Iran-Kuwait war in 1990. Kumar has portrayed the role of the lead character who gives all the possible help to make sure that the rescue of the Indians can be done safely.

According to First Post, the lead pair of the movie Nimrat Kaur and Kumar were very comfortable shooting with one another given their dedication to the nation. The movie has rightly made an impact on the audience and has amazing cinematography. The song sequence "Tu Bhoola Jise" from the film, where Indian national flag is hoisted, has already become audience' favorite.

Garam Masala star used to play comedy roles in movies like Singh is King, Hera Pheri and Welcome which were appreciated a lot for their comic dialogues, on time puns and hilarious scenes. Off late, Kumar is concentrating in movies like Baby, Special 26 and Gabbar Is Back which has a social message attached to them and has even succeeded amongst the audience. According to Bollywood Hungama, the film has grossed more than $31 million dollars at the box-office and it looks like the audience has accepted Kumar in this role as well.

Kumar's movies are even getting more appreciation from the critics. His recent release Airlift has turned out to be a huge success in just three days of release. The movie released with adult comedy film Kya Kool Hai Hum 3 in competition. The latter has managed to fail miserably in comparison to Airlift, it could not even gain half the earnings that Airlift could.
