Indian Actress Karisma Kapoor & Sunjay Kapur's Divorce Takes Ugly Turn!

Karisma Kapoor and estranged husband Sunjay Kapur's long divorce battle has apparently taken an ugly turn. The duo remained married for 11 years and has two children, a daughter named Samaira and a son named Kiaan. The couple filed for divorce by mutual consent in 2014 and withdrew their consent from it in 2015; the outcome still remains impending.

Sunjay's lawyer had been spilling inside details about the divorce to the media to have undue advantages over kid's custody and financial matters. To which, Karisma's lawyer has lashed out with a warning that these details cannot be discussed publicly and that Sunjay's team should not go on name-calling in public. They have asked Sunjay's party to maintain the decency. Karisma was quoted by Times of India as responding:

"I would request Sunjay and his team not to put their personal grievances on a clothesline for the world to see. Every case in the family court is used to such allegations and counter-allegations; there is nothing unnatural about this case. Let the court take it forward from here."

Karisma's lawyer claims that Sunjay is trying to use the public platform to make people form an opinion about Karisma. A while ago, Karisma's father and veteran actor, Randhir Kapoor had also lashed out at Sunjay in the media by calling Sunjay a dirtbag. Randhir even added that he never wanted his daughter to marry him. Randhir was quoted by India Today as:

"Sunjay is a third class man. I never wanted Karisma marrying him. He has debauchery in his system and never cared for his wife. He has been giving bull*** to her, and living with another woman."

Apparently, Sunjay's lawyer released to the media that Karisma married him for money, which Randhir has put down proudly that they are the Kapoors and they do not need anybody else's money.

According to Mumbai Mirror, the battle between Sunjay and Karisma does not only question the custody of their children but also of a certain trust fund, which Karsima wanted for herself and had insisted on making her sister Kareena Kapoor Khan its successor. Reportedly, Sunjay had refused to accept the conditions laid out by the actress and was forcibly banned from meeting the couple's children. Sunjay released to the media later that Karisma had used him not just for her monetary needs but also her emotional needs. He revealed that she had married him as a result of a rebound to her breakup with actor Abhishek Bachchan.

According to Mid-Day, Sunjay further added that Karima baselessly portrayed him as a substance abuser and an alcoholic. She has even accused him of cheating on her. It is recently revealed that Sunjay's plea for kid's custody is opposed in the court by Karisma's lawyer and that she will be filing a new divorce petition as Sunjay has failed to keep financial commitments. The next hearing date assigned to the couple till further notice will remain March 3, 2016.
