There is little doubt that fans are already excited about the DC flick Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. However, Warner Bros. doesn't seem very confident about how the film will be received and there are already speculations that there will be some major changes done to the DC film lineup, which includes Ben Affleck's Batman movie!

According to HitFix film reporter Drew McWeeney, the studio may be worried that the reception to Batman v Superman is not exactly what they were hoping for. Judging from McWeeney's comments, the film might not be the huge hit Warner Bros. wants it to be and could lead to some changes in the lineup of DC Extended Universe movies.

Case in point: The Batman v Superman official final trailer opened with Affleck's Dark Knight in action, and basically proved that the Gotham vigilante is more than capable of taking on the Man of Steel. There is little doubt that Batman is the popular one in the match, and it looks like the studio is planning to make the most of his popularity.

Because of that, McWeeney predicted that Affleck's solo Batman film could be released ahead of the highly anticipated Justice League - Part 1 that is expected to drop in 2017. Batman isn't expected to hit theaters until 2018, but based on the popularity of Affleck's character in BvS, the studio might decide to move its release date up to keep the fans interested in the rest of the DCEU movies.

In addition to that, McWeeney also revealed that the other strong point of Batman v Superman is Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor. The villain may be Henry Cavill's main nemesis in BvS, but there are speculations that the studio might bring Eisenberg back for a larger role in Batman.

McWeeney did have some good news for fans that are already looking forward to Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman: Both films are expected to do well in the box office and will be released with barely any changes.

At this point, Batman v Superman could end up getting some major reworks to focus more on the Caped Crusader, which sounds like the best move for the future.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will premiere on March 25.
