Few years back, Raima Sen was a name which promised to shine in Bollywood, but things did not work out well for her. Now, after staying away from the silver screen for a while now, Raima is back and she will soon be seen in Bollywood Diaries, where she will play the role of a prostitute.

In Bollywood Diaries, Raima's character, Imli will be seen working as a prostitute in Sonagachi. Sonagachi is situated in North Kolkata and is Asia's largest red-light district , an area that contains several hundred multi-story brothels; plus has over 11,000 sex workers. Bollywood Diaries will also feature Ashish Vidyarthi and Salim Diwan in pivotal roles.

The makers released a song featuring all the leads titled, "Mann Ka Mirga" and the song pretty much reveals the plot of the story. The song features Salim, who is working in a call center and has dreams to perform on stage. Ashish is a middle-aged government worker, who is suffering from a disease. Raima's Imli is working as a famous prostitute in Sonagachi. Bollywood Diaries follow these three unrelated people and their struggle in making a career in Indian Film Industry.

Bollywood Diaries is written and directed by KD Satyam, who previously wrote critically acclaimed 2012 film Gattu. It seems that KD is very happy about Raima being a part of his project. The director was quoted by Bollywood Hungama as responding:

"Since Bollywood Diaries has a segment with a Bengali set up, I wanted an actress from this part of the country. I thought that Raima was just the perfect for the part. She has that kind of intensity and aura which is so much required for the part of Imli that she plays in the film. Honestly, though, to begin with, I was struggling to get a Bengali actress on board. Then I saw Raima in this film, The Japanese Wife. I thought that she is superb in there."

Bollywood Diaries is slated to release on Feb. 26, 2016
