By popular demand from fans and critics, Fox has one more episode left of their iconic sci-fi/horror series. In the revival finale of The X-Files, will Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) finally learn "the whereabouts of their child, William?"

In our previous recap, though they have split apart, Mulder and Scully are reluctantly back together after Tad O'Malley (Joel McHale) provides physical proof of an alien abduction. Initially Scully had her doubts about Sveta (Annet Mahendru), Mulder believes she is the key. Because Roswell was misdirection, Mulder believes humans have been hoarding alien technology for their darker motives. After discrediting Tad to the press, Sveta is killed on the spot by a government-controlled alien ship. Cigarette Smoking Man (William B. Davies) has come out of hiding after heating The X-Files has been re-opened.

In our recent recap, Mulder and Scully were asked for help with special agents Miller (Robbie Amell) and Einstein (Lauren Ambrose)'s investigation into a terrorist attack. Racing against the clock, Miller worked with Scully as Einstein found herself bound to Mulder's unorthodox methods. After a drug hallucination, Mulder entered a dream state with the bombing victim. With Mulder's clue, the FBI raided the hideout of a terrorist group just before they were about to hit their next target.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Carter explains how the finale title harkens back to the premiere, "It's the answer to the question posed by the first part of the two-parter [the season premiere]. But as an answer, it only goes so far to the edge of the cliff. It is the predicament of their lives brought into the most frightening spotlight that I could imagine. The predicament of: Where is their child?"

The Millennium showrunner adds, "I love the mythology. I focused so much on it during the run of the show because it really involved the character's personal quests, and also their relationship as it grew, and/or as it ebbed. The struggles. I chose "My Struggle" [as a title for the premiere and finale] because those characters both struggle very much with their belief systems. I love the mythology because it did what I think the show did best."

The X-Files continues for one more Monday at 8pm on Fox.
