It is fair to say that the Netflix documentary Making a Murderer has divided the world. After watching the series and learning about Steven Avery and his nephew's Brendan Dassey's conviction of the rape and murder of photographer Teresa Holbach many people are including the accused are skeptical about the case. Avery's new lawyer Kathleen Zellner is one of those people who is confident that the case is going to take a turn in his favor.

Watching the series, law enforcement officials seemed very eager to prove that Avery and Dassey were guilty of Holbach's murder. While there was evidence found linking Avery to the crime, many questions arose to the validity of the evidence, as well as if law enforcement were just pressed to pin him to the crime. Zellner believes without a doubt that Avery will be vindicated for a second time.

Avery spent 18 years in jail for a rape crime he was eventually cleared of. As he stated his disdain of Manitowoc law enforcement, he was making moves to file a suit against the county. Soon after, he found himself being charged and later convicted of murdering Holbach.

While currently serving his life sentence for Holbach's murder, Avery has been determined to get an appeal for the case, but of course, he has been shot down each and every time. Now that Zellner has stepped in to help, Avery's luck may very well change.

In a video interview with TheLipTV's Allison Hope Wiener, Zellner expressed her ill feelings for law enforcement's methods for pinning this crime on Avery.

"It's the evidence," Zellner tells Wiener. "They only focused on him. They did not look at a lot of other suspects, certainly some key people they should have been looking at. There was a very poor investigation done of the victim's background, who she was involved with, the circumstances of her life. It had all the hallmarks of a wrongful conviction case."

Zellner also shared that she is ready to clear Avery's name and prove who actually committed the murder. She took to Twitter informing supporters of the status of the case and share how Avery is currently coping.

There has been no word on Dassey having any appeals in motion for the case. He is currently still serving his time at Green Bay Correctional Facility.
