WGN America's 'Outsiders' Episode 5: 'Demolition' Ryan Hurst, David Morse Premiere Recap

WGN America continues with the premiere their new original series, Outsiders. In episode 5, entitled Demolition, Big Foster (David Morse) and Little Foster (Ryan Hurst) are trying to defend their mountaintop homestead before the outside world takes it away from them.

After proposing to G'Winn Farrell (Gillian Alexy), Little Foster goes out to tell the good news to everyone. The clan welcomes the good news, all except for Big Foster. "Why can't you be happy for me?" Little Foster says before he leaves. Little Foster reminds Big Foster, watch what happens when you need help.

Asa (Joe Anderson) meets with G'Winn by herself. She should have told him that Little Foster had proposed to her. G'Winn remind him that what they did before was "not making love" He doesn't know what love means. 

G'Winn and Little Foster meet with  Lady Ray Farrell (Phyllis Somerville), asking for her blessing with their upcoming marriage. G'Winn reveals in her speech that she used to be pregnant and had a miscarriage, but she doesn't mention who the father is. Little Foster holds G'Winn's hand gently and lovingly, but Lady Ray doesn't buy it.  

G'Winn is still upset with Asa, knowing he will betray her again. Asa will leave again, like he did before. He will hurt her all over again. Lady Ray understands that Little Foster is a gentle child, but does that mean their feelings are the same?

Making up for ditching her, Hasil (Kyle Gallner)' asks Sally-Ann (Christina Jackson) for forgiveness. To show he means it, Hasil even has a gift for Sally-Ann, which warms her up. Sally-Ann ends up taking Hasil to her grandma's house, where they strip naked, and have passionate sex. Sally-Ann has to run though, because she's in trouble for being late.

While Sally-Ann is being yelled at for being seen with Hasil, Sheriff Wade Houghton (Thomas J. Wright) has just been promoted. First day on the job, Wade can't even deal with the corporate exec, who wants to incriminate the Farrell Clan on charges. Wade has problems of his own, knowing something is wrong with his son, who wanders off during the night. 

Asa and Big Foster end up drinking moonshine together, throwing knives at the wooden board. As they continue to challenge and rough each other up, the twosome end up trespassing into a construction site. The duo start wrecking the site as they steer the bulldozers into a tanker and start an explosion. 

Hearing what Asa and Big Foster did, two more Farrell clan members trespass into the construction site. But this time, they are met with gunfire. The Farrells make a run for it as they are being shot at. 

Asa heads back to the home of the corporation executive and messes around with his water pipers. Instead of water, Asa mixes the drain with sulfuric acid. After putting his hands into the sick, and washing his face, the executive screams as his face is being burned off .
