One untold side of the story of superheroes is that of those who have to pick up the pieces after the likes of Batman and Superman make a mess of things, and those are the people NBC's targeting in their new pilot. Powerless, a workplace comedy about an insurance company in the DC Universe, will begin filming shortly -- with Alan Tudyk, Danny Pudi and Vanessa Hudgens!

Days after announcing Hudgens as the first cast member of the upcoming pilot, NBC has revealed through The Hollywood Reporter that the Firefly and Suburgatory actor and the Community alum will be part of the team who picks up after superheroes in the DC Universe. They'll also be joined by Christina Kirk, who previously worked with series creator Ben Queen on the short-lived A to Z.

In the single-camera pilot, Tudyk will be taking the role of Del, Hudgens' new boss, the son of the company's owner and something of a dictator in the workplace, who will be making his subordinates' lives a little miserable.

Pudi, on the meantime, will play Teddy, Hudgens' best friend and confident who loves to prank the office and finally, Kirk will play superhero fan Jackie, who's a little obsessed with the hunky guys who can stop trains and the like.

Hudgens, the show's main character, will play Emily, an insurance claims adjuster who who loves her job and grows increasingly annoyed with how much damage superheroes make in the city.

As Variety reports, if Powerless gets picked up as a series, it would be the first DC Comics comedy, after a growing number of dramas between CBS, Fox and The CW, including hits like Gotham and, most recently, Supergirl.

It's still unclear whether Powerless will directly connect with any of its fellow DC shows or in which city it will be located. Still, whether it's Gotham, Central or any other, if the damage is even remotely similar to what Superman and Zod did to Metropolis in Man of Steel, it's not too surprising to see how annoyed insurance companies would be with their existence.
