Fans still find it difficult to accept that the legendary actor Leonard Nimoy has passed away. However, there is one person who still seems deeply affected by the loss. Zachary Quinto remembers his friend and taking over Nimoy's iconic role of Mr. Spock in the Star Trek reboot movies.

Quinto was recently a guest on Stephen Colbert, where the American Horror Story star was asked about the mysterious characters he plays both in film and TV. Colbert also pointed out that Quinto had a remarkable friendship with Nimoy, and the Heroes actor immediately spoke about his lost friend.

"We actually lost Leonard a year ago on the 27th of this month, so much love to him and his family of course always, but I've never met somebody actually that so fully embodied a sense of fulfillment in their life. I really haven't," Quinto said before continuing to share a few kind words about the actor.

"He was such a tremendous artist and philanthropist and generous person, and he was so intelligent. I miss him all the time, and I really miss him so much at this point obviously, marking the anniversary of his passing, but he was one of the greatest gifts that my career has brought into my personal life for sure," he said.

Nimoy first portrayed Spock in 1964 and appeared alongside Quinto as the future version of the character in the Star Trek reboot films. He died on February 27, 2015 from complications with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Nimoy was 83 years old and was survived by his wife, two children as well as six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Quinto has appeared in several TV shows including CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, 24 and Hannibal. He is best known for playing the villainous Sylar in the NBC series Heroes. Quinto will reprise his role as Spock in Star Trek Beyond, which is scheduled for release on July 22.
