It's official; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has started filming, and director James Gunn has already shared the first promo picture featuring Chris Pratt's Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana's Gamora and Dave Bautista's Drax the Destroyer. In addition to that, Karen Gillan has just posted a Twitter photo of herself getting ready as the feisty Nebula!

Gillan has finally returned to the makeup chair to transform into Nebula, and the former Doctor Who actress is understandably excited to return as her Guardians of the Galaxy character. Gillan shared the picture showing off her new manicure on Twitter. "It's good to be back in blue," she captioned the image, adding the hashtag #GuardiansoftheGalaxy2.

Although the photo did confirm that Gillan will be wearing Nebula's trademark blue in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, there was no hint on whether Gunn has decided to give the character some hair for a change. Gillan had famously shaved her head to get into the character's prosthetics, and fans have even implored Gunn on Twitter to give Nebula a new hairstyle in the sequel. However, the director firmly turned down the suggestion.

The return of Nebula certainly brings about the possibility that the character and her sister Gamora will butt heads once again. Gillan had previously confirmed that the sisters will work on their relationship in GotG Vol. 2.

"I think what I'm really excited about it delving into the sisterly relationship between Gamora and Nebula," she told Comic Book Resources last November. "I think that we're going to see a little bit more of that, and it's going to be a bit more fleshed out."

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will also mark the return of Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel as the voices of Rocket Raccoon and Groot. The film is scheduled for release on May 5, 2017.
