Tom Ellis may be the star of the FOX series Lucifer, but he still has some trouble getting the spotlight from costar D.B. Woodside, who plays the temperamental angel Amenadiel. Woodside recently opened up about his Lucifer character and expressed an interest in appearing in the DC Comics flick Green Lantern Corps!

In an interview with Comic Book Resources, Woodside shared a few details about the Neil Gaiman character he portrays in Lucifer.

"Amenadiel is the older brother that always does the right thing. He always does what their father tells him to do. And yet, Lucifer is the one that has always been the favorite son. Lucifer is always the one who seems to get away with everything. Lucifer is also the one who seems to get the most attention," Woodside said, adding that the favoritism takes a toll on the angel.

"As the season progresses, we will start to see Amenadiel's jealousy overtake him and force him to do things he wouldn't normally do," he revealed.

That wasn't the only revelation from Woodside, who also admitted that Amenadiel has taken Lucifer's position in the underworld and isn't very happy about it.

"We will find out Amenadiel has indeed been the one who has taken Lucifer's place in Hell and it's tearing him apart," he shared. "He wants order to be restored so he can basically go back home."

He may already be playing an angel, but that doesn't mean that Woodside isn't interested in being a superhero. The former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star recently attended Comic-Con International in a Green Lantern t-shirt and admitted that he might be sending a message to Warner Bros.

"Maybe I was wearing a Green Lantern t-shirt because I'm trying to get into the minds over at DC as they are looking for their Green Lantern, 'Open up and take a look at some others out here in Los Angeles,'" he said. "That was my cheeky way of trying to influence them."

Although Woodside admitted that he has not yet auditioned for the role, he did state that he expressed his interest by wearing the Green Lantern t-shirt.

"I would love to play Green Lantern," he said. "There are so many other fascinating characters out there in the DC Universe, as well as Marvel. I would relish the opportunity to play one of those guys."

He might not yet be John Stewart, but you can still catch Woodside as Amenadiel in Lucifer, which airs on FOX every Monday nights.
