The legal battle between actress Karisma Kapoor and her industrialist husband Sunjay Kapoor is getting murkier day-by-day. The actress has now filed an FIR against Sunjay and his mother Rani Surinder Kapoor for mental harassment and dowry during her stay with the family.

Though the procedures for their divorce settlement were going on for a long time, things turned worse when Sunjay refused to abide by the terms and conditions the duo had mutually agreed on. The statements came from Karisma a few days later, when Sunjay had alleged that the actress had married him only for money.

As revealed by a report from Indian Express, the duo is also fighting for their children's custody. Currently, the children, Samaira and Kiaan, are staying with Karisma. The charges levied against Sunjay Kapoor and his mother includes "section 498(A) (husband or the relatives of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) and 34 (common intent) of the IPC."

The police had registered the actress's complaint filed last week. However, no arrests have been made by the police as they will be questioning Sunjay and his mother regarding it. The actress also made a shocking revelation about Sunjay by saying that he is staying with another woman and her child in the Kapoor house in Delhi.

Conversing about the case, Karisma legal representative Senior Counsel Sanjog Parab told The Pioneer that the complaint has been filed for physical and mental harassment and cruelty, but has nothing to do with dowry.

"It is purely a question of physical and mental harassment. We believe as I have been instructed by my client that the gentleman (Sunjay) while his marriage is subsisting with Karisma, has been staying with another paramour in his own matrimonial house along with that woman's child."

The next hearing for their case has been scheduled for March 3.
