Gone are those days when budding actors in the industry swiftly signed film projects to showcase their acting proficiency and increase their fan base. Nowadays, newcomers select films on the basis of the film's storyline, apart from the actors they will be working. Similarly, a recent case was of actor Arjun Kapoor when he denied working in Meri Pyaari Bindu.

Kapoor refused to work in the film Meri Pyaari Bindu, which is a joint production of Yash Raj Films and Maneesh Sharma. The actor was the first choice of the film opposite actress Parineeti Chopra. What made the makers approach him was his sizzling chemistry with Chopra in his debut film, Ishaqzaade.

However, he denied the role after listening to the script as he wanted to do something more exciting. A source revealed Spotboye.com, "He heard the narration but wasn't too excited to play Tamilian Parineeti's Bengali boyfriend." Reportedly, Yash Raj Films was not producing the film when Kapoor was approached. They came on board later.

After his refusal, singer-actor Ayushmann Khurrana was penciled in to enact the role of a Bengali boyfriend. According to DNA India, to be directed by debutant Akshay Roy, the film is based on an era of old Hindi songs when audio cassettes were used. Khurrana's last film Dum Laga Ke Haisha also showed a similar time period.

Kapoor is currently busy promoting his upcoming film Ki & Ka along with actor Kareena Kapoor Khan. Directed by R Balki, the film depicts the story of a couple where husband prefers to stay at home and cook while the wife goes out to work and earn for the family.

Ki & Ka is Kapoor's first release in 2016, post the debacle caused by his last release Tevar, opposite actress Sonakshi Sinha, last year. The film is slated to release on April 1, 2016. Besides, the actor has no other film in the pipeline. Currently, the 30-year-old actor is busy hosting a stunt-based television reality game show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi.
