'Fast & Furious' Star Jordana Brewster Joins FOX's 'Lethal Weapon' TV Series Cast!

Fast & Furious star Jordana Brewster is set to play the protagonist in the series adaptation of action feature franchise, Lethal Weapon. Jioining the cast, The actress will co-star in FOX's one-hour long pilot episode based on the famous cop movie.

Deadline reported that the pilot episode of Lethal Weapon will be directed by McG. It will follow the story of a Texas cop and a former Navy SEAL Martin Rigg, who suffers the loss of his wife and baby. He moves to LA to start a new life. In LA, he meets LAPD detective Roger Murtaugh (played by Damon Wayans), who avoids a stress life post his minor heart attack.

In the TV show, Brewster is said to play the role of Dr. Maureen 'Mo' Cahill, the LAPD's hostage negotiator, who is also an in-house therapist. Brewster's character will help Riggs to come out from his depression.

Brewster is best known for her work in the Fast and Furious film series. She started her television career by starring in CBS' As the World Turns, then she started to recur in NBC's Chuck and FX's American Crime Story. She is also currently preparing for her role in the upcoming season of ABC's Secrets and Lies.

In Feb. 2016, The Hollywood Reporter reported that FOX had officially picked up the Lethal Weapon pilot and has cast Wayans Sr. as Murtaugh.

According to Coming Soon, the pilot episode will be written by Matt Miller, who is famous for Forever and Chuck. Miller will also serve as the executive producer of the show along with Jennifer Gwartz and Dan Lin. There were earlier reports that Lethal Weapon TV show the original makers (Richard Donner and Shane Black) will not be involved in the silver screen adaptation. Despite not being credited for the TV series, director Donner and screenwriter Black have reportedly given the green signal to the production team of the TV show.
