The Marvel flick Avengers: Age of Ultron may have ended with Thanos vowing that he will take care of business himself, causing speculations that the Mad Titan will appear in Captain America: Civil War. However, it looks like Josh Brolin's villainous character will be taking a break from kicking Avenger butt!

According to CinemaBlend, Civil War writer Christopher Markus has an excellent explanation why Thanos will not appear in Captain America 3.

"Because we've got so much cosmic-ness waiting, we are more than happy to keep it waiting," Markus said before explaining why we should wait a little longer before Thanos returns to the big screen.

"You know...Civil War is such a grounded argument, that you don't want to go, [whispers] 'Actually, that's not very important because there's a space man coming,'" he joked, adding that the arrival of Thanos is not a secret but the Avengers obviously have other things in mind.

"We all know there's a space man coming, but it's going to blow this argument out of the water if you bring it up so all that has to stay far enough away," Markus concluded.

Although the fans already know about Thanos, this does not necessarily mean that Captain America (Chris Evans), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and the rest of the Avengers are aware of the Mad Titan's plans with the Infinity Stones. Although there is a possibility that Thor (Chris Hemsworth) might be on to him, the only characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe who have somehow encountered Thanos are in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Civil War might be completely Thanos-free, but Brolin's Mad Titan will finally be getting in on the action in Avengers: Infinity War - Part 1 and Part 2.

Captain America: Civil War is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and will hit theaters on May 6.
