Season 2 of the Batman prequel series, Gotham, continues on Fox. Twitter had lots to say at the shocking twist between detective Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and the super villain Mister Freeze (Nathan Darrow)!

In our previous recap, with Theo Galavan missing, Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) refuses to squeal on Jim and finds himself sent to Arkham, meeting Dr. Hugo Strange. Elsewhere, Victor Fries (Darrow) finds himself racing to clock, working on his experiments, to save his dying wife. Now that he stumbled upon a cure, Victor has to somehow free his wife, who has been taken into custody by Jim and Bullock. Wanting the cure for himself, Hugo Strange (B.D. Wong) is very eager to meet the man the newspapers have named Mister Freeze.

In our recent recap, Jim's plan of using Nora as bait backfired on him when Lesle Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) became involved. Elsewhere, Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) continues his search for Matches Malone. After his cure failed to save Nora, Victor committed suicide and froze himself to death. While Leslie and Jim's relationship is on the rocks, Mr. Freeze rises from the dead as Strange's latest experiment.

In an interview with Variety, McKenzie teases, "I think the discerning audience member can realize that we're heading in a direction where something's going to have to give. Strange has been able to conduct his experiments pretty much in the dark - no one is really aware of it outside of himself and Ms. Peabody, and the monsters he's creating are quite vicious, and you'll see more of that as the season wears on. So eventually our hero is going to have to be aware of it, and I can't give it away, but it will all make sense ... I think the writers really have a wonderful way of bringing it all together at the end of the season, not just Strange and Gordon, but Strange, Gordon, and Bruce Wayne."
