After Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey were announced as the two leads of the upcoming movie adaptation of Stephen King's Dark Tower series, casting for the project remains in full force: newcomer Tom Taylor has snagged the role of Jake Chambers! In the meantime, Breaking Bad alum Aaron Paul has expressed interest in the film, even teasing a possible role.

In the first bit of Dark Tower-related news, Variety reports that the studio hired Taylor was picked after a worldwide search for actors. He'll be playing the pivotal role of Jake Chambers, the protégé of Elba's character, Roland Deschain. Before being cast in the role, young Taylor has already had a few parts in television shows, including Doctor Foster, The Last Kingdom and, most recently, Legends.

Abbey Lee is also reportedly joining the cast of the upcoming film, set for an early 2017 release date; however, Sony hasn't commented on this casting decision yet.

In the meantime, Paul, who won three Emmy Awards for his performance as Jesse Pinkman in the AMC critical smash, has been surrounded by Dark Tower movements lately. While no official announcements have been made regarding his involvement, the actor has been teasing a possible role, first taking to Twitter to address best-selling author King and later speaking on interviews about it.

"I think being in Dark Tower would be pretty cool," Paul recently told Yahoo! TV, when asked which film franchise he'd like to join. "I'm kidding. Or am I? Those rumors are floating around. I spoke with Stephen King last night."

Still, it's hard to believe the actor, currently promoting Eye in the Sky, as he's been known to tease his fans regarding possible projects.

Just last year, Paul told fans that he was already working on a new series with Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, where he'd be reprising his role of Jesse; of course, it wasn't true, and many fans' hearts were broken into a million pieces.
