In this week's episode of Better Call Saul, the S02E04 entitled "Rebecca," one of the most fascinating characters from Breaking Bad makes his first appearance in Vince Gilligan's Albuquerque, undoubtedly making the hearts of fans jolt in excitement. Also, as this recap with spoilers shows, we get to see a sneak peek of Jimmy and Chuck's relationship before the latter developed his strange allergy.

Throughout this episode, Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) is still recovering from his punched-up face after last episode's encounter with Tuco Salamanca (Raymond Cruz), where he successfully got Tuco behind bars after staging an armed robbery. Tuco not only threatened him with a gun, but he also punched him in the eye and made him look a little like Quasimodo, so Mike has refused to visit his granddaughter so she won't see him this messed up.

Mike has continued work as usual at the toll, plus visiting his favorite diner for tasty meals. In one of the occasions where he's having coffee there, an older Latino man unexpectedly shows up and sits on his booth: a health, pre-stroke Hector Salamanca (Mark Margolis). Breaking Bad fans will recognize him as Tuco's uncle and the man who dies to blowing up Gustavo Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) in the show.

Fans know from flashback scenes that Hector is not a man to mess around with, and on Better Call Saul, he's still a healthy man who can walk and talk. Sitting down with Mike, he tells him his nephew should learn to respect his elders but also attempts to bribe him: for $5,000, Mike will have to tell the police the gun Tuco threatened him with was his instead, so his time will be lower.

The two men don't reach an agreement and considering Mike's low on cash it's tough to see what will happen, but it's always exciting to see the man behind one of the most iconic scenes from Breaking Bad.

In the meantime, Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) is still working on the case that got him grounded, only now he also gets a sidekick: Erin (Jessie Ennis), a younger lawyer who's been working on the firm for a couple of years and really loves to correct others. Though she refuses to acknowledge she's been sent to babysit Jimmy, it's pretty clear she was assigned to him to do just that; and, if not, she's the most annoying person in the world, correcting menial details like fonts and the capitalization of Roman numbers.

In a flashback that runs throughout most of the episode, Jimmy visits his brother Chuck (Michael McKean) and his wife Rebecca (Ann Cusack) for a home cooked meal. Before Jimmy comes in, Chuck warns Rebecca that his brother is difficult, and they even develop a warning sign in case he gets too unpleasant ... but it turns out that she's as charmed with Jimmy as everyone else is after he makes a series of corny lawyer jokes, in a time before Chuck became a recluse with an allergy to electricity.

When he and Rebecca are alone, Chuck attempts to make a lawyer joke too ... and fails miserably, lacking the charm of his younger brother. The married couple reads in bed, silently.

Back in the present, Jimmy is also still trying to fix the mess he made with Kim's career, as his stint to broadcast a commercial made Howard (Patrick Fabian) send her to the Siberia of law firms: document review. He comes up to Kim (Rhea Seehorn) when she's working, saying she should sue the firm over being treated unfairly, as she did nothing wrong; Howard and Chuck have it in for her.

Understandably, Kim refuses, saying it'd be career suicide to sue her own law firm, and instead calls every big company in Albuquerque asking if any of them need legal representation, until finally finding a bank that needs a good team of lawyers, bringing in an account of hundreds of thousands of dollar ...but Howard still refuses to get her away from the document review.

Closing up the episode, Chuck comes up to her and tells her a story about how Jimmy embezzled their own father, stealing thousands of dollars from him for years, which Kim obviously didn't know. Chuck also promises to try to smooth things over with Howard so she'll be taken off doc review.
