Kerry Washington Speaks Out About Her Marriage to Nnamdi Asomugha Amid Divorce Rumors

Kerry Washington is finally speaking out about her marriage to Nnamdi Asomugha. There's a lot of divorce rumors flying around and this is one scandal that Washington apparently doesn't want to address.

According to E! News, Washington made it simple explaining why she doesn't really talk about her personal life in regards to the divorce rumors that have been spreading like wildfire. During her session about the New Rules of Social Stardom at this year's 2016 SXSW Music, Film and Interactive Festival, Washington said: "I think-and this is something Reese Witherspoon has talked about a lot-it's a little different for me because I don't talk about my personal life." SXSW was held at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas. Washington added: "Social media has actually been great for [other celebrities'] relationships with the weeklies or the gossip sites because people say things and they say, 'That's not true! Just so you know, that's BS!' I say 'BS' because it's Sunday. So I'm thinking in some ways, it's been great because people are able to maintain their voice."

Washington made it clear that social media gossip doesn't really affect her and that her personal life is off limits.

"If I don't talk about my personal life, it means I don't talk about my personal life," she declared. "That means not only did I not tell you when I was getting married, it also means if somebody has rumors about what's going on in my marriage, I don't refute them, because I don't talk about my personal life."

Washington explained why she decides to keep her personal life away from the public.

"I have girlfriends in this business who talk about their personal lives, and it works for them, and I love it. But not for me. I learned through experience that it doesn't work for me to talk about my personal life," she previously said during an interview back in 2013.

Even the birth of Washington and Asomugha's daughter was top secret. Isabelle Amarachi, who is now almost two years old, was born back in 2014 without any media attention. No one knew until a few weeks later that the actress had gone into labor and delivered her child.
