"Arrow" S04E16 "Broken Hearts" Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy Premiere Recap

The CW Network continues Season 4 of Arrow. In episode 16, Broken Hearts, can Stephen Amell/Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) and Laurel Lance/Black Canary (Katie Cassidy) face the return of Cupid as they fight against Damien Dhark (Neal McDonough)?

With a couple held hostage, Cupid (Amy Gumenick) asks why she should plead their case. After the couple says they love each other, Cupid then hits them both with an arrow.

In the courtroom, Damien Dhark's lawyer manages to convince the judge there is no evidence and calls for a mistrial. Felicity and Oliver argue over who should move her boxes out of their home.  They were together and now they're not. Unfortunately, Felicity thinks she's still part of the team now that they're over.

In the flashback, Ollie and the team find the artifact. He's too late to stop a team member from being shot at point-blank range. A dead man's soul enters and awakens the artifact. After the order to shoot is given, Oliver ends up stealing the artifact, but gets lost in the cave,

Laurel actually wants Felicity to talk in the courtroom but her relationship with Ollie is over. Diggle (David Ramsey) has a heart-to-heart talk with Oliver, but he doesn't know if he still wants her on the team.

Captain Lance shows the Green Arrow the note Cupid left for him. The message says: LOVE IS DEAD. Thea (Willa Holland) recognizes the murdered faces from gossip sites. In court, Diggle is cross-examined by Dhark's lawyer and is accused of perjury. Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne) offers to take the stand, but his daughter doesn't want him to.

Now that Felicity has Cupid' location, The Green Arrow and Speedy have a chase across the streets. During the chase, Speedy jumps on top of the limousine but gets slammed into a wall.  The Green Arrow spots the car with a single shot. Realizing this was a setup, the Green Arrow and Cupid fight before she escapes. 

As Thea realizes Cupid is targeting celebrity couples, Diggle notices Oliver is holding back from getting back together with Felicity. Lance wants to take the stand because he has to suffer the consequences. 

Speedy discovers a major clue at Cupid's hideout. The next couple on her hit list were Felicity and Oliver. It turns out there will be a wedding after all. Oliver doesn't want to admit their relationship is over but Felicity knows it is. 

As Quentin confesses his crimes on the stand, Oliver confesses his own feelings at the wedding. Cupid crashes the wedding, hits Oliver with the arrow, and triggers the bomb. With the clock ticking, Felicity tries to convince Cupid that love if life. 

After Cupid fights Speedy and Diggle, Oliver shoots her with his tranquilizer gun. Afterwards, the judge denies dismissal and holds Dhark without bail. While Captain Lance gives up his badge and gun, Felicity gives up her wedding ring.

Oliver stands alone as Felicity is already gone. Back in his prison cell, Dark has been hiding his dark magic ring in his mouth.
