It may be 11 years since rocker chick Avril Lavigne first entered the music scene with her hit single "Complicated," but even as the 28-year-old plans her wedding with her fiance, Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger, she still refuses to grow up.

The Canadian singer/songwriter makes this clear in her catchy new single "Here's to Never Growing Up," which was released yesterday on iTunes and has already climbing its way to number 10 on the charts after only one day. The acoustic anthem seems to take her back to her pop-punk origins during her "Complicated" days which initially made us fall in love with Avril back in 2002.

Vulture states that 'Here's to Never Growing Up' "feels oddly redolent of Ke$ha (the auto-tune, the insistent THIS IS AN ANTHEM!! feel), Miley Cyrus (the Radiohead mention subbing in for the Jay-Z nod in 'Party in the U.S.A.'), and Rita Ora's 'How We Do (Party)' (everything about the song). And it'll still get stuck in your head no matter how you break it down. Proceed with caution."

Avril's follow-up to 2011's "Goodbye Lullaby" has been in the works for months, according to Billboard. Epic Records chairman Antonio "L.A." Reid told Billboard in September that Lavigne had "just completed" the album, which has yet to receive a title or a release date.

Lavigne's fiance, Kroeger, has also been working on the upcoming album with Lavigne, reports US Weekly, which helped them realize that they were destined to be together.

"When you're sitting there across from someone singing into the microphone and you're singing a love song, you start to develop feelings for them," Kroeger, 38, told Ryan Seacrest in a joint interview with Lavigne on Tuesday, April 9. "And it just kind of blossomed into this kind of thing and the next thing you know ... we started dating [last summer]."

"We started dating and the next day he was like, 'You know I'm gonna marry you,'" the "Complicated" singer recalled. "And I said, 'I know.' It was one of those things that we just knew."

Kroeger and Lavigne announced their engagement last August after just one month of dating, surprising both family and fans, states US Weekly. As for the couple's upcoming wedding, Avril states It's kind of just a lot of close friends and family. It is smaller," she said of their plans. "[But] it's gonna be quite spectacular and there's a theme to it. But Chad doesn't even know everything."

Kroeger may not be a "Sk8er Boi," but we are still happy for Avril, whose newly released song may just become the anthem of the summer. Listen to "Here's to Never Growing Up" here:
