When Gilmore Girls was beginning and Alexis Bledel's Rory had just gotten into fancy Chilton, she had one unpleasant and handsome private school boy: Tristan Dugray, played by then-rising actor Chad Michael Murray. As the cast prepares for Netflix's revival of the show, Gilmore Girls: Seasons, it seems the character might come back to haunt Rory -- but will Murray reprise his role?

The character Tristan (no last name) appears on the credits of Netflix's revival miniseries, particularly on episode "Winter," but Murray's name is nowhere to be found. In this new iteration of the role (if it is in fact the same one, which seems likely), the Chilton alumnus will be played by Anton Narinskiy.

Narinskiy, who was part of last year's sequel Pitch Perfect 2 and had a recurring role in Days of Our Lives, does resemble Murray, so it seems plausible. Also, considering all three of Rory's major exes are returning for the revival (Jared Padalecki, Milo Ventimiglia and Matt Czuchry are all confirmed), it would make sense that someone who was so into her during school would come back as well.

Murray is pretty busy these days. While the fate of his latest show, Marvel's Agent Carter (where he plays another super unpleasant character, Jack Thompson), remains unclear, the actor recently landed a role in CMT's Million Dollar Quartet, where he'll lay legendary music producer Sam Phillips, Deadline reports.

While most of the original Gilmore Girls cast is coming back to seasons, considering he has at least one show (possibly two) in production right now, Murray may have been unable to drop his obligations to go back to a character he played shortly over a decade ago, even before One Tree Hill.

One member of the Gilmore Girls cast notoriously absent from Netflix's revival is arguably the most famous alum of the show: Melissa McCarthy, who played sweet chef Sookie in Amy Sherman-Palladino's show.
