Wheel of Fortune has been around for 33 years, but the iconic game show may have just seen its best contestant ever. Robert Santoli of Yorktown, New York started the show, starring Pat Sajak and Vanna White, by solving the first speed round puzzle with only one letter, but then ran through the other puzzles almost as fast.

The one important piece of information that helped Robert was the fact that the producers told the contestant beforehand that the show would be would be nautical-themed since the whole week was sponsored by Carnival Cruise Line.

"The instant I got my theme, I immediately came up with an ever-growing list of puzzles themed towards cruises, sailing, fish, boats-anything on or in the water," Robert told Tapinto.net.

He answered the first puzzle, whose category was "Places," with only the letter "D." The answer was "Port & Starboard." The next category was "Song Lyrics," which he solved almost as quickly.

"Oh, boy... the category that I'm always griping about because of the constant quoting of oldies and never newer stuff. Thankfully, that doesn't matter," he wrote on a Wheel of Fortune fan message board. "The "_ H" means it has to be "OH", so "_ _ _ T" must be "WHAT" or maybe "JUST". "OH WHAT... A NIGHT! *DING*"

After pummeling the rest of the show, Robert went on to the Bonus Round puzzle where he won another $45,000 after solving "Goofy Pictures" from the category, "Things."

"The top row lights up from left to right, save for one letter. G... O... O... Y? IT'S GOOEY--wait, no, no E. What else could it... OH! Okay, I got this! GOOFY PICTURES! YES!" he wrote regarding his thinking when solving the puzzle.

What does he plan on doing with his $76,000 in winnings? "Most importantly, I plan to pay off my student loans from Fordham [University] and buy or lease my own car," he told Tapinto.net.
