The DC flick Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice displayed a completely new Lex Luthor, who may seem to be an eccentric genius but actually turns out to be a sociopath hell-bent on destroying Henry Cavill's Man of Steel as well as Ben Affleck's Caped Crusader. Luckily, Jesse Eisenberg's character has been arrested in the film and is currently facing jail time. However, his company LexCorp Industries is officially washing their hands of Luthor by issuing a statement on Instagram!

The official LexCorp Industries Instagram account posted a photo of Eisenberg as the freshly shaved Luthor and announced that they will be "temporarily suspending [its] global operations" because of "unfortunate circumstances."

The statement also reveals that the company had tried to speak with Luthor and only got the following response: "Ding, ding, ding, ding. Are we entering the second round?"

The post concludes with LexCorp stating that they are not involved with the villain's crimes.

"We do not understand Mr. Luthor's actions and LexCorp does not take responsibility for his actions. Thank you for being patient," the caption read.

Luthor's "actions" may involve more than just the murder of Superman. In a deleted Batman v Superman scene, the villain is seen in the genesis chamber where he created Doomsday and appears to be communicating with a mysterious alien holding three boxes.

The scene is believed to explain what happened before Luthor was arrested and brought in by authorities, and could also bring light to his strange outbursts when Bruce Wayne visits him in prison. There are also speculations that the alien in the scene is Steppenwolf, one of Darkseid's Elite soldiers.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice may be getting some negative reviews from critics, but the Zack Snyder film continues to dominate the worldwide box office.
