Theo James and Shailene Woodley has received worldwide popularity from their roles in Divergent series but although James has loved his character, Tobias 'Four' Eaton, from the fantasy franchise, it seems like he does not wish to portray such roles in future anymore.

In a recent interview with Toronto Sun, James, who has been dating actress Ruth Kearney since 2009, hinted that he wishes to maintain a low profile for a while and wants to do small roles. James was also seen in Underwood: Awakening and his contract with Lakeshore Entertainment was also revoked for Underworld: Next Generation, but he is clearly not looking to do another film from the Underwood franchise.

James started his acting career by starring in A Passionate Woman opposite Billie Piper and he was cast to play the male lead, Tobias 'Four' Eaton, in the film adaptation of Veronica Roth's best-selling book, Divergent. The 31-year-old English actor reprised the role of Four in the sequel to Divergent, The Divergent Series: Insurgent and The Divergent Series: Allegiant. However, the actor thinks that he has had enough of playing such roles and will opt to do some serious drama in the near future.

"I'm looking forward to doing smaller things for a little bit. In a way I have less experience with them, so I need to develop myself as an actor and as a person."

Well, this is not for the first time when James has wished to opt for doing smaller yet meaningful roles. In an interview with the Interview Magazine, James revealed that as an actor, it is necessary for him to keep on experimenting with different genres of filmmaking.

"When you're in a franchise, you need to come up with things that are very different."

After The Divergent Series: Ascending, James will be seen in War on Everyone and Backstabbing for Beginners.
