Just hours after Marvel's major 2016 event, Captain America: Civil War, was having it world premiere in Los Angeles, one of its newcomer stars popped up in Las Vegas to talk about his character's solo movie and we finally have a title for Tom Holland's Peter Parker film! Appropriately enough, Spidey's Marvel Cinematic Universe film will be called Spider-Man: Homecoming.

According to The Verge, the news about the upcoming film's title was announced last Tuesday at the CinemaCon, when Holland and Sony Pictures chairman Tom Rothman took the stage to tell the world a little about the new iteration of Peter Parker.

A clip, presumably from Civil War, was also shown to the audience during the announcement: in it, Peter meets Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.). It's unclear if the footage will be released to a broader audience before the movie comes out.

The Homecoming title plays as a triple reference: not only is Holland's Spidey of high school age, he's also "trying to find his way home," in Rothman's words. Lastly, though unmentioned, fans could easily take the "homecoming" title from Spider-Man finally getting back home where he belongs: in Marvel Studios' growing superhero universe.

As Marvel announced through a press release, Homecoming will be directed by Jon Watts (the man behind 2014's Clown) and co-stars Oscar-winning actress Marisa Tomei in the role of Aunt May, previously played by Rosemary Harris and most recently Sally Field.

The film will be part of the MCU's Phase 3, which will début in just a few weeks with Civil War. Famously, the movie will see Holland début as Spider-Man, introducing him and Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther as the newest member of the Avengers.

As shown in the trailer, Spidey will be part of Team Iron Man in the battle of superheroes.
