Legendary music icon Prince was rushed to the hospital on April 15 after his private jet made an emergency landing in Illinois in the middle of the night. However, he’s doing okay now, according to reports, and it's finally revealed what caused his trip to the ER.

Prince is said to be back home and doing fine after he was taken to hospital in the early hours of Friday morning.

TMZ reported that "He was released 3 hours later, got back on the plane and is now back home."

The 57-year-old singer had been battling the flu, but still took to the stage in Atlanta on Thursday night after pushing the show back a week.

After his sold-out performance, he felt worse and shortly after he boarded his private jet his plane diverted to Quad City International Airport in Moline to make the emergency landing, according to the site.

Initial reports on his condition painted a much graver picture, with one source claiming at the time he was "not doing well."

Luckily, Prince has a good sense of humor about the whole thing. He took to Twitter on April 15 a little while after the news of his illness broke to share what he’s listening to, and fans believe it’s a message that he’s okay and feeling as spunky as ever. “#NowPlaying “Controversy (Single Version)” by @Prince in @TIDALHiFi : ) : ).”

Prince has had an incredibly tough year already. His protege Vanity tragically died at just 57 years old on Feb. 15 as a result of kidney and abdominal issues following a drug overdose. Prince was devastated by the news, and even dedicated a song to her during a concert after her death.
